University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED)
The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was established on September 23, 1992 and is part of the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
UWED is a leading higher educational institution that provides training, retraining, and advanced professional development for specialists, as well as conducting high-level fundamental and applied research in key international fields.

Main Tasks and Activities
The main objectives and activities of the university include:
- Providing high-quality training of international experts in foreign policy and foreign economic activity through innovative educational technologies.
- Strengthening students’ independent preparation and enhancing analytical thinking, professional skills, and moral values.
- Developing an effective retraining and qualification system for international personnel to support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions.
- Increasing the effectiveness of fundamental and applied research in international relations and foreign economic development.
- Training highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel in priority areas.
- Organizing professional translator and guide training for official meetings and foreign delegations.
Education and Student Life
The university has approximately 2,000 students (undergraduate and graduate), including international students from countries such as:
Canada, Japan, China, Korea, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

UWED employs around 160 professors and teachers, including:

Foreign professors from leading institutions in Great Britain, Japan, Korea, and Poland are regularly involved in the educational process.
Additionally, representatives from universities in Germany, the USA, Spain, France, Great Britain, Slovakia, and other countries frequently visit UWED to deliver lectures.
